MECHANICAL SEALS - OIL

There is a wide variety of mechanical seals, so that they can resist corrosion, allowing the final product to have a lower deterioration factor as a result of an electrochemical reaction by the environment where it will be used.

Some of our products are treated by a sequence of several of these processes.

They are mainly used to prevent fluid or gas leaks at the point where the shaft passes from the wet end to the dry or atmospheric end. They are mainly used in compressors, pumps and many other types of rotating equipment. Some of the advantages they have are:

- They allow the union of systems or mechanisms to avoid fluid leakage and prevent contamination.

- Almost no frictional wear

- No power loss

- They work under high pressure

A mechanical seal has a static part and a dynamic part, the dynamic part is the one that rotates in conjunction with the rotary axis. The stationary part is the one that remains fixed, both must be free of irregularities. Mechanical seals mainly have 3 points of sealing;

- The primary seal between the tracks

- The secondary seal or dynamic ring

- And the or static ring

The mechanical seals are manufactured according to the fluid to be sealed, the main data are to know the fluid, RPM, temperature, working pressure, PH, toxicity, corrosiveness, reactivity etc.

Materials are selected based on the fluid. Hard tracks are usually ceramic, silicon carbide or tungsten carbide. As soft tracks are carbon, bronze, stainless steel or carbon etc.
